First, it is important to wear a helmet at all times while riding. This not only protects you from head injuries, but it is also a requirement at Sun Peaks Resort. If you do not have a helmet with you, the resort staff will be happy to direct you to one of the many places on-site where you may rent a helmet for your convenience. Riders should also be aware of the trail rating system used at Sun Peaks Resort. The resort uses a color-coded system to indicate the difficulty of each trail, making it easier for riders to choose trails that match their skill level. It is important to stay on designated trails and not to venture off route, as this can damage the environment and put other riders at risk.
The Sun Peaks Bike Park offers tours and lessons for every level from First Timer to Advanced. There are many biking camps available through the park as well.
BEAR AWARE
Sun Peaks is home to black bears and other wildlife. You may encounter a black bear during your stay. If you do see a bear, always keep your distance. Many wildlife professionals recommend remaining a minimum of 100 meters away.
