Located 45 minutes from Kamloops in BC’s Interior, Sun Peaks is easily accessible from both Vancouver (4 ½ hours) and Seattle (6 ½ hours) on the scenic four-lane Coquihalla Highway, from Banff (7 ½ hours) on the Trans Canada Highway, and Jasper (5 hours) on the Yellowhead Highway. Kamloops Airport is serviced by two airlines, and there are regular shuttles from other ski resorts within B.C.
Driving
Driving from Vancouver
Take TRANS-CANADA Highway 1 eastbound from Vancouver. Choose the COQUIHALLA Highway to Kamloops. Approx. 3 ¼ – 3 ½ hours. Once into Kamloops, take the Highway 5 EXIT northbound to Jasper. Approx. 25 kilometers. Look for signs to Heffley Creek and Sun Peaks Resort and turn right into Heffley Creek. Turn left at the Heffley General Store. There is a directional sign for Sun Peaks here. Proceed along this two-lane road up the mountain… all the way to Sun Peaks Village. Approx. 30 minutes.

Driving from Seattle
Take the I-5 NORTH to Bellingham. Exit on MERIDIAN STREET, heading east and north towards the Sumas border. Cross the border into Canada at Sumas and take the TRANS-CANADA Highway 1 eastbound for Hope. Please bring 2 pieces of identity papers to get easily through Canadian Customs. After Hope, you will be given the option of three highways: Choose the COQUIHALLA Highway to Kamloops. Approx. 2 ¾ hours.
Once into Kamloops, take the Highway 5 exit northbound to Jasper. Approx. 25 kilometers. Look for the signs to Heffley Creek and Sun Peaks and turn right into Heffley Creek. Turn left at the Heffley General Store. There is a directional sign for Sun Peaks here. Proceed along this two-lane road up the mountain… all the way to Sun Peaks Village! Approx. 25-30 minutes.

Tastefull Excursions
In 2017, TasteFull Excursions was awarded the multi-year contract to become the official shuttle service provider on behalf of Canada’s second largest family ski destination: Sun Peaks Resort. This valued industry partnership provides service for up to as many as 200 people per day in the winter season transferring Sun Peaks’ guests, ski gear, luggage, and incidentals to/from the Kamloops Airport (YKA).

Continue driving through the village until you reach the top of Creekside Way. Turn left at the stop sign. Cahilty is situated on your right hand side.
